Concrete Roots

Concrete Roots is a local company that specializes in youth engagement in Nova Scotia through dance, particularly bboying (commonly known as breakdancing). The company teaches classes, creates after-school programs within the local school boards and conducts presentations and workshops, as well as facilitates open practice sessions with local recreation centres. Concrete Roots was privileged to receive the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s Gold ‘Best New Business of the Year’ Award for 2010, and Igor Geshelin was one of the founding members of the company, being involved with this dance himself since a young age.
